![]() When you book your Discovery Cruise you have the option that I can also book your flights with the cruise line, or you can book your own. It may seem easier to just let the cruise line do it, and sometimes it’s seems like that’s a good deal (for instance, Norwegian often have ‘2nd passenger flies free’ offers). But, is it? Check out this great video by cruisetuber “Just Don”, as he explores the pros and cons of letting the cruise line book your flights vs booking your own flights. 8 minutes of your time could save you hundreds.

Don goes over the reasons why this is a best practice in his video, but in a nutshell, you don’t want anything to prevent you from getting to your cruise on time. They won’t wait for you! BTW, the photo is a view of my cruise ship, Carnival Firenze, from the plane upon departure – docked next to the Queen Mary no less! How lucky was I to be sitting on that side of the plane!
