What is a Discovery Cruise?
A Discovery Cruise is a customized opportunity for tech theatre students (high school and university, as well as young professionals looking for a sea change) to discover what it's like to have a career in a state-of-the-art theatre aboard a cruise ship. They will experience life on board a ship, check out the venues' equipment, experience the variety of entertainment, observe the technical aspects of the shows and events, and have the possibility to interview the onboard theatre technicians about life and work aboard a cruise ship.

HOW IT WORKS
This fundraiser is open through December of this year. In February of next year, grants will be awarded to qualified Discovery Cruisers (and one chaperone if Discovery Cruiser is under 21). Qualified applications are accepted on a first-come-first-sail basis, and the number of grants awarded depend on the amount of funds raised. Discovery Cruises will be scheduled for that summer. The Discovery Cruiser's (and chaperone’s) fees and taxes, flights, hotel, travel insurance, and gratuities are included in the Discovery Cruise Grant the student receives. Discovery Cruisers may pay for additional upgrades or extensions if desired. |
