Have I found a vlogger for you! Actually, not quite a cruise techie, but a performer on board ships. Her name is Jordan Bauth. She’s a professional (and talented!) ice skater, and, as of this writing, she’s on board a Royal Caribbean ship. Yes! RCCL ships have ice skating rinks! And spectacular ice skating shows – great lighting! In any case, back to Jordan.

A couple of blog posts ago – NOT ALL SMOOTH SAILING – I pointed out some warnings all savvy cruise techies should be aware of. But here, I’d like to relay a few positive comments from technicians who have worked in ships’ theatres…
Before you can work in a theatre on a cruise ship, you still have to search for vacancies, apply for jobs, interview, and sign contracts, just like any employee. While these two websites don’t specifically address working in a theatre, they are chock full of information about cruise ship profiles, job descriptions, salary ranges, vacancies, application processes, and more! As my new mates on ControlBooth point out, working on a cruise ship is not all smooth sailing. If you’re interested in working on a cruise ship, you should know the pros and cons.
