Once you have your Discovery Cruise booked, search to find out if there is a Facebook group! I joined the Facebook group for my cruise - I’m going solo on this trip, so I thought perhaps it might be a good thing to do. Well… I’ve already got a dinner scheduled with a like-minded fellow traveler, signed up for a special Meet and Greet with the ship’s officers, joined a Shot Glass Exchange (who knew! I had to go out and buy a Colorado shot glass!), and I’ll be joining a Pub Crawl! Yes, a Pub Crawl on board a cruise ship!
And, as well as meeting with the tech crew, I’ve also reserved a ticket to see the “Jersey Boys” production. I hope I’ll be getting the inside scoop on that one! I’m also looking forward to checking out all of the venues on the ship and seeing the sorts of productions and events that the crew are responsible for working. So, all this is to say…although your purpose of taking a Discovery Cruise will be to discover what it’s like to work behind the scenes on a cruise ship… while you’re at it – also enjoy the whole experience of cruising! I know I will!
